Apropos Design is an interior design firm created from a passion, a dream, and an understanding that a house becomes a home when the personality of the owner is reflected in their space. ALLIED ASID
Shandra Pettit, Principal of Apropos Design, LLC, has her associate's degree in interior design. Her passion for creating led her to pursue her dream of a career in the design field. With determination and commitment, Shandra worked a full time job while she returned to college to attend school full time on nights and weekends. Her dedication to her education earned her high honors and she continues to seek out resources to support her growth in the profession. A year after graduating, Shandra founded her own interior design firm.
Shandra is Allied ASID and the Membership Director for the Nebraska/Iowa ASID Chapter. She is a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), Metro Omaha Builders Association (MOBA) and Professional Remodeling Organization of NE-IA (PRO of NE-IA).
In her free time (what free time?) Shandra enjoys hiking in the Colorado Rocky Mountains (or dreaming of the mountains), spending time with wonderful family and friends, and planning her home addition/remodel. She is a vocal supporter and active participant in the fight against Pancreatic Cancer. Shandra is an animal advocate and proud momma to her rescue and foster dogs and rescue cats.

Jennifer first joined Apropos Design as an intern and quickly proved to be a delightful and valuable addition. She is enthusiastic about helping clients meet their design goals and a great fit for our team...just ask our clients! She has an eclectic knowledge of styles and focuses on creating the most functional space while incorporating thoughtful aesthetics unique to each client. Developing strong relationships is the foundation of Jennifer’s approach, both professionally and personally.
Jennifer has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Nebraska Omaha, in addition to an associate’s degree in interior design from Metropolitan Community College. She graduated with high honors and was the Vice President of the local student ASID chapter. Jennifer is Allied ASID and continually strives to gain knowledge and experience in the design industry.
When Jennifer isn’t drafting up renders for our clients, she likes to spend time with her two mini–Australian Shepherds, Olivia and Pepper, and her husband, JJ. Jennifer is a travel enthusiast and enjoys any place with beautiful views and incredible food. If she isn't traveling, she can often be found out on the volleyball court for some fun competition, but equally enjoys sitting on the couch and binge-watching the latest Netflix series.
